The BBQ Guru 2008 FBA Triple Crown Championship Program

The BBQ Guru 2008 FBA Triple Crown Program consists of a maximum of three FBA Sanctioned Contests and one alternate per state. Those contests are considered to be Qualifiers and the accumulated points won at those contests is going to be used to select the top 10 teams from each group of 3 contests. The top 10 teams from each state will be invited to The BBQ Guru 2008 FBA Triple Crown Championship to be held in December. Some rules apply: Points can not be mixed between states and there will be no duplications or substitutions. If a team places in the top 10 in both Georgia and Florida, for example, they will receive only one invitation to the Championship Round and that will be based on the first state they qualify in. In the event of a tie, both teams will be invited and the rankings will skip down one additional position. For example a tie for 7th place will have two 7th place teams, an 8th place, a 9th, and a 10th for a total of eleven teams being invited. If a top 10 team can not attend the Championship Round, then the next team in the standings from that state will be invited. The contest locations in each state shall include the FBA State Championship for that state as one of the three contests. Note: Points at the Qualifiers DO count toward Team of the Year just as they would at any other FBA Sanctioned Contest. However, points at the Triple Crown Championship DO NOT count toward Team of the Year since that contest is by invitation only. And as with all FBA programs, the Head Cook of each team must be an FBA Member in order to win. For 2008: Florida Qualifiers: Sebring, Winter Haven, Clermont Panama City (alternate only for those teams unable to reserve a spot in Clermont) Georgia Qualifiers: Thomaston, Barnesville, Newnan Alabama Qualifiers: Dothan, Valley, Elba Championship: Perry, FL - December 12-13, 2008 Triple Crown Prizes - $15,000 Total!
