FBA Board of Directors Meeting - June 28, 2010

8:02pm Meeting Open

Board Members Present: Ed Hartwig, Ricky Ginsburg, Forrest Dilmore, Rob Bagby, Gary Blevins, Jimmy Brod, Dana Hillis

Guests in Attendance: Ray Lesko, Jodi Harriss, Kent Harriss

E-Mail Business: May minutes approved.
Jim McCoin interested in contest in Okeechobee the weekend that had been the Sebring contest.
Elba, Alabama contest has expressed interest in moving contest back to November next year.

Treasurers Report - Ricky: Current bank balance is $47,131 with no outstanding bills. Expecting bills in next week in the neighborhood of $3,000.00 for FBA store merchandise and BBQ News.

Committee Reports:

Contests - Forrest: Five areas have expressed interest in holding new contests and are in contact with Forrest

  1. Gainesville/Alachua, Florida area
  2. Ocala, Florida- 2 different organizations have expressed interest
  3. Punta Gorda, Florida area
  4. Palm Beach Gardens, Florida area
Albany, GA contest had questioned their status on sanctioning. No request for sanctioning has been received at this time from this organization. Forrest will contact to follow up.

Perry, FL Triple Crown (Jimmy Brod) wants to change formatting some. Will have open and invitational. Plans to pull out of the open a separate category of just Big Bend area residents. Also wants to rearrange placement of teams and vendors to encourage public to visit with pro cook teams. Jimmy to follow up this week with organizer.

Membership - Gary: 15 new members, 1 new corporate membership

Old Business: none

New Business:

  1. FBA Store- Ricky Ginsburg - Store is a success and had much "acclaim" via emails to Ricky
    Sold approx $347 without including merchandise sold over past weekend.
  2. Discussion on responsibilities of Board Officers was postponed until July meeting of the Board.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:28pm
