May 19, 2008 Board Meeting Minutes
Board Members Present: Kevin, Ricky, Chuck, Walt, Rub, Jimmy joined @ 8:40PM
Board Members Absent: Jim
Guests in attendance: none noted
The meeting was called to order at 8:04PM
Approval of Minutes from April 28, 2008
Ricky moved to accept, unanimously passed
Old Business:
1. Fun Cook
- Ricky is finalizing the brochure
- FBA will pay for the sausage for the poolside lunch on Saturday
- Mike Byrd has offered to cook the chicken in the absence of Jimmy Bennett
- Decided not to do the "You bring it we fry it" on Friday night
Committee Reports (with New Business introduced):
Contest - Walt
- Perry FL wants a Judge's seminar on December 11 with the new judges used for their Backyard division
- Walt moved to sanction Haines City February 20-21, unanimously passed
Membership - Rob
Since the last BOD meeting we have 9 new members, 2 reinstated members, and 2 restaurant members.
Public Relations/Marketing - Jim Absent
Reps - Chuck
Terrell Langley has one more contest to do and he should be ready
Rules - Jimmy
Fun Cook - Discussed "payment" for Reps and suggested reimbursing their room costs. Jimmy moved to do so and it passed unanimously. Jimmy will also check into getting a block of rooms set aside for our members to reserve.
Other New Business:
Kevin brought up naming the 2009 FBA State Championship contest and Okeechobee's interest. It was discussed; Kevin moved to name Okeechobee as the 2009 FBA Florida State Championship contest, unanimously passed.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:59
